Philosophy of Yoga

Yoga is the exploration of consciousness

Ultimately, the exploration of the Self is the exploration of the world.

Like a fish, which takes the shape of water and through its shape tells the story of water, just as tells the human consciousness the story of the universe, in which it is embedded is.

If we do not know the water in which the fish lives, if we do not know the universe, that that medium of being is, so we can explore consciousness, the human experience within it and thereby unravel the mysteries of the world.

Here you'll find insights into yogic philosophy, a sense of wonder about the world, and new ways to understand yourself as part of the universe.

The chakras in Kundalini yoga

New Perspectives on the Chakras

Where do they come from, and what is their inner meaning? What do they have to do with the goddess’s journey and with sound? How can we understand them in Kundalini and Hatha yoga?

The chakras are a mystical matter. Deep down we all know, that there are inner worlds of experience into which we immerse ourselves and in the dream of our being explore can. Nevertheless there is a clear, applicable image of them is rare.

Here, we examine them in light of their source tantras and explore their meaning. The Manthana Bhairave Tantra views them as the goddess’s journey; the Sat Chakra Nirupana recognizes them as places of revelation; and in Transformational Yoga, they are gateways to the divine. Let’s take a closer look at all of this...

Koshas in Transformational Yoga

What the koshas reveal about us

The koshas are first mentioned in the Taittiriya Upanishad, one of India’s oldest texts. There, the koshas are referred to as the “souls of the Self.” “The souls of the Self” should be understood in light of what each kosha represents: a distinct identity flowing from Brahman, a distinct being, its own soul with both light and dark sides.

Each kosha is the inner soul—that is, the cause—of the next more material layer. This is a hierarchical order in which the universal spirit of Brahman manifests the layers of our self through us, thereby becoming reality.

The soul is the very core of our being. It harmonizes the various needs of the koshas so that we can lead a fulfilling life in which every layer of our being can fulfill its purpose.

Reality, Yoga, and Life

Yoga is the exploration of life

Why does yoga improve our lives? Some say it’s because it makes us healthy, but that’s not the whole story.

The true power of yoga lies in its ability to awaken the capacity for insight within a person. Yoga awakens consciousness. This is also the source of goodness.

Once an individual is better able to recognize reality, they can overcome the challenges they encounter in the world.

Consciousness is also the source of all that is good, since it allows a person to truly become who they are, and at their core, they are good.

Human beings are good because they have chosen goodness as their ideal. This ideal is their goal, their essence, their core.

This awareness is all that is necessary to recognize and engage with the world and everything it encompasses. These insights, drawn from the mind, are as diverse as the world itself.

In the light of insight, the world and the self within it are recreated.
